LOVING the sunshine!
So I can officially say that I am BAFFLED by the weather in Oklahoma this summer! Where is all of this rain coming from? It seems to rain more days each week than it is sunny. I realize we can always use the rain, but sometimes I just LOVE the sunshine and want to just lay by the pool! Also, the roof over my apartment likes to leak. Since it has rained SOO much this spring, we have had our ceiling fixed from rain damage close to half a dozen times. Honestly, it get pretty old. I would love to enjoy the outdoors more often, but it just doesn't seem possible with all of the rain. The other night, I got out of a late movie and was greeted by a downpour. Needless to say I was soked getting into my friend's car. It was ridiculous. What I am curious about is why this summer is so wet. The winter was wet as well, but I wasn't expecting such a wet summer. Is it due to global warming? I know it has had a real effect on our environment, but I don't really know the extent. Perhaps I should do some research and find out what is causing such a wet mess everywhere.

Well hello again! Summer is here and seems to be staying for a while which just makes me pleased as peas lol. However, I'm getting the itch to go on vacation somewhere tropical or to a beach. I haven't been on a vacation in a while and have never been very far from Oklahoma. I'm twenty years old now and feel like I should experience somewhere outside of Oklahoma. I love cultures from other countries. I would really love to go on a Caribbean cruise with a few of my close friends sometime in the next year. I've been saving my money and hope to find a great deal. I've heard that the best time to go is during the off seasons. If I cannot go on a cruise I would like to go to a beach in Florida somewhere. Anywhere outside of Oklahoma sounds great to me. Don't get me wrong, I love Oklahoma and being near my family and friends, but getting a scenery change would be great as well. I have so many questions about travelling! Should I go through a travel agent or search on my own? I have so many questions, but the bottom line is where I can get the best deal for my money. If anyone has any suggestions or had a great experience in a particular place please let me know!

Birthdays...
Well I suppose I will begin by saying today is my birthday. I turn 20 years old today. I don't know if I am weird or normal, but I LOVE birthdays. Whether it's my birthday, my friends' birthdays, my mom or dad's birthday, or my guinea pig's birthday, I LOVE birthdays. I tend to make a cake for my friends' birthdays. I normally go for the pink cake with the white icing confetti sprinkles. I always have a party of some sort every year. My mom threw me a surprise party for my sixteenth birthday.
Is it just me that loves birthdays or am I joined by many more? I know some people who never even acknowledge the day and would like to hide from the world's view. That is no fun at all. Yes, I understand that you are a year older but why not embrace it?! I'm not excited to get old but I'm always excited to get some cake and presents. Is it really the age thing that bothers people or is it something more? Do some people just not like the attention it brings? I suppose I just don't get it. Last night at my birthday party I sang to myself and wore a plastic tiara that said "Princess for the Day." I wanted anyone and everyone to know that it was my weekend to celebrate. Perhaps if people realized how much fun birthdays can be they would be more open to celebrating them. I'm not sure, but I do know that I'm going to eat LOTS of cake today and enjoy the one day of the year just for me. :)
